You may have already noticed: Almost all of our MOGLi snacks feature a small orange-green logo with white lettering – the Demeter seal. It stands for the highest organic quality, natural ingredients, and agriculture that works in harmony with nature. Since the Demeter seal is less well-known, we have 10 interesting facts about Demeter for you here.
Demeter means that most of the ingredients in our snacks come from biodynamic agriculture—a particularly sustainable and near-natural farming method based on genuine cycles. This means that fruit, vegetables, and grains are grown entirely in the most sustainable and natural way possible.
Organic is great—and Demeter is even better. The standards for Demeter products are particularly strict. This way, you can be sure you're choosing the best organic quality—for your family and for nature.
At MOGLi, we believe that children should experience real taste. That's why we completely avoid artificial flavors and additives in all our products—in our view, only Demeter can fully deliver this.

At Demeter, it's not just the quality of the ingredients that counts, but also how they're processed. Over-processing is deliberately avoided. Demeter certification therefore provides assurance for all parents that the ingredients are preserved as naturally as possible, thus ensuring the nutrients our children need, especially during their growth phase.
Since 1924, Demeter, the oldest organic association, has stood for agriculture that is guided by the natural cycles of humans, animals, and the earth. Today, around 1,800 farmers and 350 producers work together to transform this special quality into delicious, high-quality food.
On Demeter farms, everything works in harmony: The animals provide fertilizer for the fields, the fields nourish the plants, and the plants, in turn, feed the animals. This closed cycle protects nature and ensures particularly healthy soils—a foundation for good food.
Demeter farms keep only as many animals as they can feed with their own land. The animals live in species-appropriate conditions on pastures with ample grass or in spacious stables with feed produced on their own farms. Animal welfare is a top priority on the farms.

Genetic manipulation, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides are out of the question at Demeter. Only natural fertilizers, such as manure from the animals living on the farm, are used. Demeter farmers also value natural aids such as earthworms, beetles, spiders, lichen, and fungi, which loosen the soil and keep it healthy and fertile.
In conventional agriculture, seeds are modified so that plants can only grow particularly quickly and in specific soils. Demeter prohibits such genetically modified seeds. Instead, Demeter focuses on the natural needs of plants and promotes variety diversity. 10. Social interaction is practiced.

Anyone who buys products with a Demeter seal automatically promotes social cohesion in our society: Many Demeter farms integrate people with care needs or are organized as solidarity-based agriculture. This means that a fixed group of people regularly purchases food from the farm to ensure the farm's economic viability. Employee pay is also fair and respectful.
If you would like to delve deeper into the world of biodynamic agriculture, you will find a wealth of further information, background information, and insights into the workings behind the label on the official Demeter website .
