DIY: Jungle School Cone

In this DIY, we'll show you step by step how to conjure up a unique jungle school cone with just a few materials – a real eye-catcher for the start of school! Let your creativity run wild and create a school cone that's as adventurous as the start of school itself!

It's so easy: Make a jungle school cone

With our instructions, making a school cone is child's play. If you're in a hurry, use a ready-made school cone blank. Then you can start directly with step 4.

Materials:

• 1 large photo cardboard (50-70 x 100 cm) in green or a color of your choice
• 2 additional photo boards in different shades of green
• Crepe paper in 2 colors (at least 70 x 50 cm)
• Scissors, craft glue, ruler, pencil, double-sided tape
• Yarn or cord
• natural-colored, wide gift ribbon
• MOGLi Tiger Template (for printing)
• small wooden discs for decoration
• optional: additional decorative elements such as feathers, ribbons, etc.

1. Cut the school cone blank: The standard size for a school cone is 70 x 70 cm. For a mini school cone, e.g., for siblings or daycare children, you can also use the 15 x 15 cm or 35 x 35 cm size.

• First, measure the photo cardboard to the correct dimensions: Take a ruler and make two marks at 70 cm.
• Cut a piece of yarn to 70 cm and tie a pencil to one end.
• Hold the yarn at a marker, stretch it to the bottom corner of the box and draw a semicircle with a pencil.
• Cut along the line and your blank is ready.

2. Roll the blank: Now it's time to roll your bag!

• Roll the cardboard into a pointed bag shape.
• A little tip: Moisten the bottom corner with a little water to make it easier to roll up the photo cardboard.
• Thereafter Fix with double-sided adhesive tape.

3. Making the school cone closure: To close the school cone, we use crepe paper in two different colors: yellow and green.

• Cut the crepe paper:
  • Yellow: 70 x 50 cm
  • Green: 25 x 50 cm, additionally with jagged edges (also available in different sizes).
    
• First, attach the yellow crepe paper to the outside top edge of the bag.
• Glue the green crepe paper over it.
• Decorate the transition with gift ribbon – optionally with small wooden discs for a natural look.

4. Jungle decoration: Now things are getting wild!

• Tiger: Download the MOGLi Tiger template (A4) , print it out, cut it out and stick it in the middle.
  
• Leaf chain:
  • Draw 8–10 palm leaves in different shades of green on cardstock.
  • Cut it out and punch a small hole at the top.
  • Thread the leaves onto a string and wrap the string around the bag.
  • Fix with adhesive tape.
• Decorate the tip: Cut a piece of green crepe paper (approx. 15 x 15 cm), place it around the tip of the bag and glue it in place.

5. Fill the school cone: Finally, the school cone is filled with treats and surprises, for example with the MOGLi pizza sticks in Demeter quality or the MOGLi x Pixi® school start bundles .
