DIY school cone with forest animal

The summer holidays are coming to an end and the start of school is just around the corner – time for a very special school cone! With our DIY instructions, you can craft a lovingly designed school cone with cute forest animals in no time – perfect for little nature lovers. Whether it's a fox, squirrel, or hedgehog: this incredibly cute school cone will put a smile on children's faces.

Materials for your forest animal school cone

• Large photo cardboard in your desired color (70×100 cm)
• Crepe paper for the closure (at least 70x50cm)
• Scissors, ruler, pencil, double-sided tape
• Yarn or cord
• MOGLi fox or squirrel template
• Decorative materials (dried flowers, leaves, feathers, colorful ribbons, etc.)

Directions:

1. Cut the blank : The standard size for a school cone is 70 x 70 cm. To cut your photo card to the correct dimensions, you'll need a compass. But don't worry, if you don't have one, you can easily make one yourself.

And here's how it works: Measure your photo cardstock and mark the dimensions. Next, take a piece of yarn or cord. Measure this to 70 cm and tie a pencil to one end of the cord. Next, place the pencil at your mark and stretch the end of the cord to the bottom corner of your construction paper. Now, with the cord taut, draw a semicircle until you reach your second mark. For a mini school cone, simply cut it smaller.

2. Roll the blank : Cut along the line and begin rolling it, forming a pointed school cone. Moisten the bottom corner with a little water to help roll the cardstock. Then, glue both sides together with double-sided tape or a hot glue gun.

Tip : If you need something quickly, you can also buy ready-made blanks.

3. Design the closure : Cut the crepe paper to 70 cm x 50 cm. Attach Attach the long side of the crepe paper to the top edge of the school cone with double-sided tape. Simply cover the edge with a pretty ribbon for a more attractive transition.
